Resident Officer Program

To enhance security at Chelsea Housing Authority developments the CHA Board of Directors adopted the Officer in Residence Program in 2010. Nationally recognized as a best practice this program has been very successful in increasing safety onsite and bettering relations between the Chelsea Police Department and our residents.

Under the policy adopted by the CHA Board of Directors, the resident officers are required to have a crime watch meeting once a month, meet regularly with the site manager and report monthly to CHA Senior Staff regarding ongoing crime watch activities, crime statistics in the development and strategies to resolve any problems that are affecting the quality of life for the residents.
